Desert Hot Springs, CA – In a heartwarming celebration of community spirit and dedication, Mission Springs Water District joined local leaders last night to honor the unsung heroes of Desert Hot Springs at the Annual DHS Rotary Club Big Heart Awards Ceremony.
The evening's most poignant moment was the heartfelt recognition of MSWD’s Hilary Emergency Response Team for their exceptional efforts during the August 20 storm. This dedicated team, led by Water Production Supervisor Chad Finch, Field Operations Technician II Lorenzo Soto, Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Mark Vermeer, and Water Production Operator II Tim Owens, demonstrated unwavering courage and resilience, earning the deep gratitude of our community.
“These remarkable individuals exemplified the true spirit of service,” stated Board President Ivan Sewell. “Their quick actions and tireless work prevented a potential disaster, ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. Their commitment and bravery are truly commendable.”
The ceremony was a powerful testament to Desert Hot Springs's collaborative spirit and a celebration of our shared success. It honored the MSWD team and educators, public servants, businesses, and volunteers who have all played a crucial role in our community's resilience and growth.
