Three and a half years have passed since George Floyd (†46) died. He was killed by a police officer who knelt on Floyd's neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds.

Derek Chauvin (47), now an ex-cop, was convicted of second-degree murder and is in federal prison in Arizona. According to a report by the Associated Press news agency, he has now been stabbed severely there.

Chauvin is said to have been so seriously injured with a stabbing weapon by another inmate at around 12.30 p.m. local time that prison staff had to carry out life-saving measures. The 47-year-old is said to be in hospital, but nothing is known about his condition.

The prison wing with around 380 inmates in which the killer cop was attacked is not a high-security area. The "New York Post" writes about the prison in Tucson, saying there are too few staff and security deficiencies.
