The Stagecoach music festival has a few changes this year, including the cancellation of a few significant acts, the return of Thomas Rhett and Carrie Underwood, the Ban of Confederate flags, and the announcement of the YouTube streaming schedule.
The Ban on the Confederate Flag and the change in the menu at Stagecoach 2022 have a lot of reasons to be applauded, but many fans are less than thrilled. Some see the Confederate flag as a harmless symbol of Southern pride, while others see it as an offensive dog whistle of racism and a symbol of rebellion against the government.
After a positive COVID-19 test at the Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, California, Brandi Carlile canceled her performance. Carlile shared the news via her Instagram page. She expressed her disappointment and hoped to come out of this illness unscathed. Unfortunately, the cancellation comes one day before the festival begins.
In the wake of Carlile's withdrawal, the Desert Festival recalculated the schedule for the festival. Tanya Tucker replaces her, and the remaining artists move their set times accordingly. Tucker will perform at 7:40 p.m. on Friday, while Amethyst Kiah, Charley Crockett, and Neal McCoy will perform earlier on the day
Thomas Rhett, after being absent from the festival scene for two years, the country music star is making his return with a new tour. Called "Bring the Bar to You," the tour will take Thomas across North America from June 17 to October. The new album features a duet with Katy Perry.
