Revolution Rolls Out a Star-Packed Fourth Season
Palm Springs’ own Revolution Stage Company is heading into its fourth season with the kind of lineup that makes local theater lovers want to clear their calendars, grab a friend, and settle into those comfortable, blue-cushioned seats.

Named Palm Springs’ favorite local theatre by the Broadway World Regional Awards, Revolution Stage Company has quickly become one of the Coachella Valley’s most exciting entertainment spots. Founded just three years ago by Gary Powers and James Owens, the theater has built a loyal following by mixing big-stage ambition with the warm, intimate feel of an Off-Broadway-style venue.
And yes, it comes with perks: free parking, a full liquor bar, affordable ticket prices, and even ice cream.
Located in downtown Palm Springs in the former home of Zelda’s Nightclub, just steps from Revivals, RSC has become a lively home for musicals, plays, cabaret, comedy, local talent, and visiting performers from New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
The new season is packed. Musical fans can look forward to SWEET CHARITY, URINETOWN, Stephen Sondheim’s MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG, LUCKY STIFF from the composers of RAGTIME, and the West Coast premiere of MERMAN’S APPRENTICE, a musical about a young girl taken under the wing of legendary theater icon Ethel Merman.
The season also brings plenty of theatrical bite. DRACULA, A COMEDY OF TERRORS begins in October, followed later by William Mastrosimone’s EXTREMITIES, Stephen Adly Guirgis’ THE MOTHER FCKER WITH THE HAT, and the world premiere of Tim Mulligan’s PIG BUTCHERED, which already sounds like one of the most talked-about shows to hit Palm Springs.
Cabaret lovers are in for their own parade of stars. Legendary New York City cabaret performer Jeff Harnar will bring his acclaimed Cole Porter show to Palm Springs for the first time. Broadway star Teri Ralston arrives in October with her Stephen Sondheim show, while Broadway veterans Craig Ramsey and Catherine Wreford return in November with BEHIND THE CURTAIN.
Also on the schedule are LT Cousineau’s MUCH TOO GAY CABARET during Pride Week and two November performances by the popular singing group A CABELLO.
In the new year, RSC will again present its Fourth Annual Ten-Minute Play Festival, along with CABARET RIOT and COMEDY RIOT, competitions that give aspiring cabaret artists and stand-up comedians the chance to sharpen their craft and possibly win their own show at the Revolution.
With more surprises still to be announced, Revolution Stage Company’s fourth season promises music, laughs, drama, glamour, and a very Palm Springs kind of theatrical sparkle.
