California Welcome Center in Yucca Valley Announces Last Month to Enter 8th Annual Art Contest

YUCCA VALLEY, CA — The California Welcome Center ~ Yucca Valley is announcing the final month for artists to enter its 8th Annual Call for Art. California residents 18 and older are invited to submit original artwork by the August 8, 2026, entry deadline.

This annual art contest celebrates California-inspired creativity and provides artists with an opportunity to showcase their work at the California Welcome Center ~ Yucca Valley, a gateway destination for travelers visiting Joshua Tree National Park, Route 66, the Morongo Basin, and the surrounding Mojave Desert region.

Entries will be judged in four categories: Painting, Photography, Mixed Media, and People’s Choice. Selected winners will have the opportunity to display their winning artwork, along with additional submitted pieces, at the Welcome Center for a 12-month exhibition.

“The Call for Art is one of our favorite ways to celebrate the incredible talent across California,” said Linda Poindexter, Operations & Activities Manager at the California Welcome Center ~ Yucca Valley. “Each year, we are inspired by the creativity, perspective, and passion artists bring to this contest. As we enter the final month, we encourage artists not to wait and to submit their work before the August 8 deadline.”
