Blood on the Streets of Iran: When a Regime Fears Its Own People

The shots come fast, cracking through the air with terrifying precision. Men with masked or expressionless faces raise their weapons and fire without hesitation. For many, there is nothing left to lose but their lives—and the terror forces loyal to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, now 86, are taking those lives by the thousands.

Yet the truth still breaks through. Reza Pahlavi, son of the last Shah, has shared videos on X that reveal scenes almost too painful to watch.

Rows of bodies lie on the ground, some so disfigured they are barely recognizable. Relatives walk among them, crying out in anguish, their voices breaking as they whisper, “Down with Khamenei.” In one haunting moment, a man performs CPR with desperate strength on another whose body is already lifeless, blood pooling from a gunshot wound to the head. These are not random acts of violence. Many victims were deliberately shot in the head—a calculated message of terror meant to break the spirit of a nation.

They aim high because they want to hit the faces of the demonstrators.

And yet, the spirit endures.

Despite the danger, despite the certainty that they may not return home alive, Iranians continue to march. They demand their country back. They demand an end to fear. In the videos, hope flickers even amid devastation—hope that the world will not look away, and that promises made will not be forgotten.

What is known is this: a regime that survives by shooting its own citizens in the head has forfeited any claim to legitimacy. And a people who continue to stand unarmed before guns, demanding freedom, have already shown the world what courage truly looks like.
