A Kick for Kindness

A kickball game, music and a chance to make new connections will bring families to Palm Springs Power Stadium on October 10, with a purpose that reaches well beyond the playing field: helping young people feel safe, supported and ready to speak up.

Boo2Bullying’s fourth annual “Kick Bullying to the Curb” Wellness Festival will take place Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m., at 1901 E. Baristo Road in Palm Springs. Admission is free, and the celebrity kickball game begins at 6 p.m.

“A young person who knows they matter is better equipped to speak up, ask for help and stand up for someone else,” said Dimitri Halkidis, founder of Boo2Bullying. “This festival takes that message beyond the classroom and puts it into action across the entire community.”

For parents and caregivers, the afternoon offers an opportunity to connect with organizations that support children’s everyday well-being. The festival’s Wellness Village will bring together resources covering mental health, education, healthcare, nutrition, fitness, youth development and digital wellness.

There will be plenty to keep younger visitors busy, too. Organizers have scheduled music by DJ ACE BOOM, a mobile zoo, Kona Ice, face painting by Rainbow Sparkz Circus, interactive youth activities and a performance by the Palm Springs High School Cheer Squad.

At 6 p.m., celebrity guests, community leaders, first responders, businesses and local youth organizations are scheduled to take the field for a friendly kickball competition built around teamwork and community connection.

This year’s festival will also recognize students learning to strike a healthier balance between screen time and life beyond their devices. A Teens Off Your Screens recognition ceremony will honor James Workman Middle School and participants in the initiative’s pilot program, with special awards for three student winners.

Supported in part by the Irene W. & Guy L. Anderson Children’s Foundation for the 2026–2027 school year, the initiative encourages healthier habits around technology and social media while promoting creativity, personal connections and emotional well-being.

Community supporters include the City of Palm Springs, Bighorn Cares, local businesses and youth-serving organizations.

For Halkidis, the goal is personal and straightforward.

“We want every child who walks through the gates to leave feeling stronger, more connected and absolutely certain that they are not alone,” he said.
