Open House: A Celebration of Care Shines Light on Alzheimer’s in the Valley
Palm Desert is preparing for an evening of compassion, music, and community spirit as Alzheimer’s Coachella Valley (ACV) hosts its Open House: A Celebration of Care on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. This heartfelt gathering will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Berger Foundation Charitable Center, where neighbors, caregivers, and supporters will unite for a cause that touches countless Valley families.
This year’s event carries special significance, as it will honor Edwina Dirk, RN, BSN, the recipient of the 4th Annual Chuck Olsen Caregiver Award. Known for her tireless dedication and compassionate spirit, Dirk embodies the heart of caregiving, making her recognition both well-deserved and deeply moving.
Adding to the evening’s sparkle, the event will be hosted by Patrick Evans, whose familiar presence brings both warmth and energy to local celebrations. Guests will also enjoy live music by Phillip Pollerana, along with complimentary valet parking and lite fare provided by community partners.
But the evening isn’t only about celebration—it’s also about sustaining critical services. ACV has set an ambitious goal of raising $200,000 to keep its free programs available for Valley families affected by cognitive impairment. Thanks to a generous donor, the first $10,000 raised will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of early contributions.
“Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of something bigger,” the organizers emphasize. With every donation, every shared story, and every act of support, the Valley grows stronger in its mission to bring care, dignity, and hope to those living with Alzheimer’s and their loved ones.
Reservations are required by October 17, and seats are expected to fill quickly for this community-driven celebration. More information, including RSVP details, can be found at cvalzheimers.org or by calling (760) 776-3100.
In a world where memory fades, events like this ensure that compassion, care, and community never do.
