Whether you are a year-round resident, snowbird, or the occasional visitor – active senior or busy professional – we want Beth Shalom to be your spiritual home. So we invite you to join us, enjoy with us, and help promote our community as the leader of Conservative Judaism in the Coachella Valley.
We welcome all Jews and interfaith couples, regardless of experience, background, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Ken Hailpern has served as Spiritual Leader of Beth Shalom since 2010. He brings over a half-century of experience in Jewish education, administration, and congregational leadership to our synagogue. Ken hails from Colorado, serving as Cantor and Religious Leader at Beth Israel Congregation in Greeley, Education Director at Congregation Beth Joseph in Denver, and Administrator of Denver's Community High School of Jewish Studies. Before moving to the desert, Ken served as a senior professional at Southern California's Brandeis-Bardin Institute, where he held leadership positions in administration, programming, and operations.

An active Board of Directors and Synagogue Auxiliary work hand-in-hand to plan congregational events and coordinate fundraising efforts. Which include a yearly Scholar-in-Residence weekend, a Chanukah celebration with a live auction, barbeque and film events, and a unique interactive lecture series incorporating featured speakers, education, community outreach, socialization, and delicious food.
