Morongo Casino Resort & Spa – The iconic and soulful songbird Patti LaBelle will bring her incredible talents and a lifetime of award-winning music to the Morongo Grand Ballroom on Saturday, May 7.
From chart-topping hits like “New Attitude” and “On My Own” to historic performances at the Metropolitan Opera House, LaBelle has remained an incomparable vocal force in the music industry for more than 50 years.
LaBelle’s career began in the 1950s with her quartet, the Bluebelles, whose hit songs included “Lady Marmalade” and “I Sold My Heart to The Junk Man.” The band transformed their R&B sound to gospel-tinged rock & roll and became the first black vocal group to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine in 1975.
LaBelle’s solo career began with the Grammy-nominated album “Released” in 1980. Her album “Burnin” earned LaBelle her first Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. She has sold over 50 million records and released 19 albums, including the 2017 “Bel Hommage,” her first album in a decade.
The multitalented LaBelle has starred on the Broadway stage and in films and TV, including a recurring role in the American Horror Story in 2014. She also hosted the highly-rated culinary show Patti LaBelle’s Place on the Cooking Channel and has written six books, including the autobiography Don’t Block the Blessings.
“As the Godmother of Soul, Patti LaBelle’s voice is an incredible gift with a range that moves effortlessly between powerful high notes and soulful whispers,” said Morongo’s Executive Director of Marketing, Simon Farmer. “We’re pleased to welcome Patti and her stunning performance of timeless hits.”
Tickets are available for $79 - $99 via Ticketmaster or the Morongo Box Office. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. For information, visit morongocasinoresort.com.
