DLNews Biz:
The Palm Springs Certified Farmers' Market will relocate as the weather gets warmer. This Saturday, May 27th, is the last day of our outdoor season. We are grateful for the community's support in buying local and sustaining family farms. Join us this Saturday for our final day of farm-fresh fun in the sun until fall.
Starting June 10th, the Palm Springs Certified Farmers' Market will move to a new location at the air-conditioned Palm Springs Pavilion on 401 S Pavilion Way. This change aims to provide a more comfortable experience for our patrons and produce. We will continue to operate on Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit program of the Palm Springs Cultural Center, we can operate year-round with the kind support of sponsors such as the City of Palm Springs, the Spa Resort Casino, and Porsche Palm Springs. Opportunities are still available if you're interested in sponsoring us this summer.
The Palm Springs Cultural Center runs the only farmers' market in the area with a vital mission. Original Palm Springs Certified Farmers' Market customers can use their EBT card to shop and participate in Market Match, the only nutrition incentive program in the Coachella Valley. Market Match matches dollar-for-dollar for shoppers' CalFresh EBT benefits at participating farmers' markets, allowing low-income families to buy more nutritious fruits and vegetables. When customers spend $15 in CalFresh benefits, participating farmers' markets provide a matching $15 credit to double their purchasing power for fresh produce.
Additionally, the Riverside County WIC Office will distribute Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers throughout the summer. WIC recipients will receive more information from local WIC representatives via text or email.
