INDIO, California – History buffs can make some history of their own. They support preserving the valley’s “story” by participating in the Coachella Valley History Museum’s silent auction of VIP passe. Including parking for the 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach, California’s Country Music Festival.
The winning bidders will have prime access as the blockbuster music events make their historic returns this spring to the Empire Polo Club in Indio following the COVID-19-spurred cancellations of the 2020 and 2021 festivals.
The “Light the Date Grove Silent Auction” is conducted through the Coachella Valley History Museum’s website (cvhm.org). Visitors to the website can find complete instructions on how to bid in the separate auctions for one pair of Coachella VIP Passes with Premier Parking Access for April 22-24, 2022 (valued at $2,500.00) and one pair of Stagecoach Saloon Passes with Parking Access for April 29-May 1, 2022 (valued at $1,700.00).
Auction proceeds will go toward the $25,000 project to light the Memorial Date Garden next to the 1909 Schoolhouse at the Coachella Valley History Museum’s campus, located at 82616 Miles Avenue in Indio, California.
The 24-tree grove features a natural date palm branch canopy and a favored outdoor setting for private events. It is a living tribute to the agricultural exports the Coachella Valley is known for across the nation and the globe.
The silent auctions will help CVHM reach its goal of fully funding the $25,000 cost of the lighting project by March 31, 2022, so installation can begin in May.
