DLNews Arts:
We're excited that the Artists Council is teaming up with the Desert Plein Air Association for the annual "Paint the Desert" Plein Air Festival. Our partnership between the Artists Council (AC) and the Desert Plein Air Assoc. (DPAA) is an excellent and big idea for the future of this festival.
After the outstanding achievements of the previous year's event, both parties have agreed to extend the duration of the 3rd Annual "Paint the Desert" Festival. The festival will last almost three weeks, from January 18 to February 4, 2024. This collaboration will provide participating Artists Council and DPAA artist members greater visibility and sales opportunities during the festival and throughout the year. To participate, artists must be a member of the Artists Council and can sign up on their website at artistscouncil.com.
If you're part of DPAA's Artists Council, you're in for a treat! You can participate in various art-related programs, workshops, and exhibitions annually. And the best part? You can showcase your work across multiple member exhibitions at the beautiful venue, The Galen. The shows are run by a team of professionals who ensure your art gets the recognition it deserves.
The Plein Air "Paint the Desert" Plein Air Festival is another fantastic opportunity for artists. There are three categories to choose from, and being selected for just one means you'll be included in the overall exhibition. How cool is that? You could have one artwork in each category if you're lucky!
The categories are:
More details and specific answers to questions will be available via the prospectus by the end of September. Note: Plain Air Artists meet once per month in different locations; the next outing is scheduled for August 21, 2023, at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
