Morongo Casino Resort & Spa – Three superstar groups who led the pop and hip-hop genres during the 1980s will bring their timeless hits to the Morongo Grand Ballroom on September 22 – Lisa Lisa, C+C Music Factory, and Digital Underground.
Having impacted American culture and defined an era of pop and hip-hop, Lisa Lisa, C+C Music Factory, and Digital Underground possess distinct sounds that are all uniquely 80s with heavy synthesizers, drum machines, and backup vocals. The groups collectively own around a dozen studio albums and nearly 30 singles – many of which broke Billboard's top 100 list when released.
Lisa Lisa is a New York City native who started her career under the group name Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam and is most often referenced by the hits "I Wonder If I Take You Home," "Can You Feel the Beat," and "I Need Your Loving." Though she released her most recent studio album, "Life 'n Love" in 2009, she signed with the label owned by rap legend Snoop Dogg in 2019.
C+C Music Factory is known for the timeless hits "Gonna to Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)," "Here We Go (Let's Rock & Roll)," "Things That Make You Go Hmmm…," and "Just a Touch of Love." The group has accumulated five Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, and two MTV Music Awards. Billboard has appropriately characterized them as one of the most successful dance groups ever.
Digital Underground may be most known for "The Humpty Dance," but its roster of solo acts and hits is extensive, including "Doowutchyalike," "Same Song," "Freaks of the Industry," and "Kiss You Back." The group also boasts the membership of the infamous Tupac Shakur before he started his solo career.
"The lineup of Lisa Lisa, C+C Music Factory, and Digital Underground will be nothing short of amazing and a must-see for anyone who can't get enough 80s nostalgia," said Simon Farmer, Morongo's Executive Director of Marketing. "There's just too much history and talent to miss this show – it's going to be one you won't want to miss."
Tickets are available for $15 to $45 from Ticketmaster. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. for the 8:00 p.m. show.
