She became a legend through the musical "Grease" - now Olivia Newton-John died of breast cancer at 73.
The famous singer and actress died peacefully on Monday morning at her ranch in Southern California, surrounded by family and friends, her husband, John Easterling, said on Facebook and Instagram.
Her big break came in 1978 when she played the lead character Sandy in the cult musical Grease alongside John Travolta as Danny. Her role became iconic, as did several songs from the film, becoming world hits. The most well-known is "You're The One That I Want," a duet with Travolta.

Over 100 million records sold, four Grammys - Newton-John has achieved great things in her career.
On Instagram, her film partner John Travolta says farewell: "My dearest Olivia, you have made all of our lives so much better. Your influence has been incredible. I love you so much. We'll see you along the way, and all be together again. You belong to me from the first moment and forever! Your Danny, your John!"
In 1992, Newton-John was diagnosed with breast cancer. The actress was able to beat the disease twice but was confronted with the diagnosis again in 2017.
Newton-John had battled cancer for decades. "Olivia has been a symbol of victory and hope for more than 30 years of sharing her journey with breast cancer," her husband, John Easterling, posted on the breast cancer activist's social media channels.
