LESLIE VAN HOUTEN BESTIALLY MURDERED A COUPLE

She was 19 years old and a beauty queen when she fell into the clutches of the notorious cult satan Charles Manson († 83): Now Leslie Van Houten (73) should soon be released from prison! After 50 years in jail!

Leslie Van Houten became a member of the Manson Family murder cult at the age of 19, which worshiped their leader Charles Manson.

She will be released on parole "in the coming weeks," her attorney Nancy Tetreault said on Friday. Van Houten is happy that her "hard work" on rehabilitation has been recognized.

A spokesman for California Governor Gavin Newsom (55) said he would not contest the release. In the past, he had repeatedly fought against her release from prison. But in May, an appeals court ruled that Van Houten should be released.

Van Houten's lawyer now said: "She is overjoyed and overwhelmed. She's just grateful that people are realizing that she's not the same person she was when she committed the murders." After her release, the former Manson supporter will spend a year in a rehabilitation facility. There she should learn, among other things, how to go shopping today or get a credit card.

“She was in prison for 53 years. ... She needs to learn how to use an ATM, let alone a cell phone or a computer,” said attorney Tetreault.

Murdered by Van Houten: Leno LaBianca († 44) and his wife Rosemary († 38)

She committed a brutal murder.

In 1969, Van Houten was involved in the murder of entrepreneur Leno LaBianca († 44) and his wife Rosemary († 38): She stabbed the woman 14 times while another cult member killed the husband.

 

Then Van Houten scratched the word WAR into her victim's stomach - it was a death orgy in the drug intoxication. The killers then smeared the villa's walls with the victims' blood.

While in prison, Van Houten received several threatening letters from Manson. In it, the cult leader condemned her, accusing her of no longer supporting him and his "movement."

A parole board found Van Houten eligible for parole in 2016, 2017, and 2019. However, that was blocked in court at the time.

At first, Charles Manson wore his hair long, 70's hippie style clothes. Later he underwent a radical change. This photo shows him in 2017, three months before his death: a swastika is scratched into his forehead. In the "Manson Family," he had only included whites. 

Manson cult murdered Roman Polanski's wife.

A day before Van Houten's bloody crime, members of the Manson cult had committed other murders. Among other things, the heavily pregnant wife of director Roman Polanski, Sharon Tate († 26), was brutally killed.

August 9, 1969: Sharon Tate's body is removed from her rented home in Los Angeles.

︎Flashback: The cult members Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Charles Watson, armed with bayonets, pistols, and knives, invaded the villa where Tate stayed with a few friends. What happened next is only partially recorded. Fact: Tate was mutilated the following day and found with a nylon cord around his neck. According to police reports, the killers stabbed the woman dozens of times.

Debra Tate (70), sister of the murdered Sharon, warned in earlier negotiations about Van Houten's release: "Leslie is a monster! She is still capable of extreme brutality!” At the time, she said of Van Houten being released: "My knees were shaking. This is total madness. All the atrocities from the past, the unimaginable brutality, came back with a vengeance.”
