Los Angeles, CA (August 27, 2026) - Legendary film and classical composer, singer-songwriter, and recording artist Danny Elfman and artist/jewelry designer ALLIGATORJESUS reunite for a new limited collaboration, inspired by a shared fascination with the macabre and the visual language of cinematic horror. Elfman’s actual skull, captured through CT imaging, becomes the foundation for custom-fitted ALLIGATORJESUS grillz inspired by the classic monsters that shaped his creative universe. The collection includes a premium T-shirt and garment-dyed hoodie, now available at shop.dannyelfman.com and in-store at ALLIGATORJESUS DTLA.
For ALLIGATORJESUS, Danny Elfman has been a creative presence long before the two became friends. His music and imagery have shaped generations of film, art, and popular culture by giving the strange a sense of grandeur—turning monsters, shadows, theatricality, and unease into something unmistakably beautiful. After more than a decade of watching Elfman perform live, the idea of creating a set of grillz for him had lived quietly in the background for years. As their friendship developed, so did a shared visual language: a fascination with classic horror, anatomy, mortality, and artists such as Joel-Peter Witkin, whose meticulously staged photographs transform the body, death, and the grotesque into haunting, almost sacred tableaux.
The image at the center of this collaboration grew out of a moment at one of Elfman’s performances in Southern California. Sitting in the second row, directly in front of him, ALLIGATORJESUS found himself looking past the spectacle of the stage and imagining something more permanent: Danny stripped down to the architecture beneath it all—the skull, the teeth, the final portrait. That vision eventually took form through Elfman’s actual skull, captured through CT imaging, which became the foundation for custom-fitted ALLIGATORJESUS grillz inspired by the classic monsters that shaped his creative universe. Rendered in stark clinical detail, the resulting image exists somewhere between medical document, memento mori, Hollywood monster still, and luxury object.
The collaboration arrives just ahead of Elfman’s North American tour, kicking off September 7, 2026 in Chicago, with stops in Detroit, Toronto, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and more. Elfman is also set to appear at several major festivals this year including Shaky Knees, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock. A full tour routing is included below.
