SB 700, effective January 2024, restricts employers from inquiring about past cannabis use or using non-psychoactive cannabis metabolites in drug tests to disqualify candidates. This will likely have a particular impact on industries with frequent drug testing, such as construction and transportation, forcing employers to reconsider their drug screening policies.
