CALEXICO, Calif. – El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents conducting anti-smuggling operations arrested a wanted fugitive last Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 4 p.m., agents assigned to the Calexico Border Patrol Station conducted a vehicle stop on a white 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck on Interstate 8 near the Ogilby exit. After interviewing the two occupants, it was determined that the passenger, a 38-year-old woman, was wanted for a narcotic trafficking probation violation with the U.S. Marshals.
A United States citizen, the woman was placed under arrest and taken to the Calexico Border Patrol Station for further processing. The driver and vehicle were released on site.
Deputies from the United States Marshals Service responded to the Calexico Station and took custody of the fugitive.
