The Palm Springs Pathfinders held their ROCK the YACHT fundraiser on the 28th.
Story and Photos by Pat Krause
The event was held at a beautiful private country club in Rancho Mirage, where more than 100 guests gathered in support of Pathfinders Ranch and the Palm Springs Boys & Girls Club. The evening marked a special milestone as the Palm Springs Pathfinders celebrate 69 years of service in the Coachella Valley. Teen members of the Boys & Girls Club warmly welcomed guests, setting the tone for a night filled with generosity and community spirit.

The entry area was brimming with more than 100 silent auction items. Wine baskets, designer purses, sparkling jewelry, dinner packages, hotel stays and many other treasures sparked lively bidding throughout the evening. There truly was something for everyone. Winning bidders often walk away with wonderful bargains, and the Pathfinders receive much-needed funds to continue their mission — a win-win for all. Guests enjoyed a hosted bar and delicious appetizers before moving into the ballroom for a beautifully prepared dinner. A moving video presentation highlighted the impact of the organizations, followed by an exciting live auction featuring seven incredible items and a spirited “Raise Your Paddle” appeal for direct donations.
The Pathfinders began by supporting what was once the Palm Springs Boys Club, which has since grown into today’s Boys & Girls Club. Over the years, they have raised more than $20 million for Pathfinders Ranch and the Boys & Girls Club. Their mission is clear: to help Coachella Valley children grow into productive and responsible citizens.
Pathfinders Ranch, located in Garner Valley, is a nonprofit outdoor education center offering archery, camping, hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, crafts and more. Each year, more than 1,000 children escape the desert heat to attend weeklong summer camps. Another 6,000 fifth- and sixth-grade students participate in science-based outdoor programs, while approximately 2,000 adults enjoy the ranch annually for retreats and conferences.

The Palm Springs Boys & Girls Club, located on Sunrise Way, provides a safe and secure place for after-school activities. Teens participate in sports leagues, dance programs, classes, gym time, swimming and homework support. Buses transport students during the school year, and a vibrant summer program serves youth ages 6 to 18. Caring mentors guide elementary students and teens alike, helping them build confidence, friendships and bright futures through programs such as Torch and Keystone.
It was an evening of celebration, generosity and hope — all in support of the valley’s children.
