Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace has announced a new way to purchase official branded merchandise: a fresh
webstore open now.
The store is starting out with a curated offering of the Southern California High Desert outpost’s core designs, including a variety of short and long sleeve tees, crewneck sweatshirts and hoodies, trucker hats, and tote bags.
The initial selection features two short sleeve tee shirts with a desertscape (black or cream); a short sleeve tee shirt with the venue’s interior stage art from local artist Shea Cline (grey); a long sleeve tee shirt with the exterior of the venue (grey); a crewneck sweatshirt with a desertscape (grey); a pullover hoodie with the exterior of the venue (black); a zippered hoodie with a desertscape (green); a trucker hat with the logo (black & white); and a tote bag with a desertscape (cream).
These designs originally debuted exclusively for patrons visiting Pappy & Harriet’s in person and are now available to customers globally for the first time. Certain items will only be offered for brick-and-mortar sale, but upcoming merch releases will include online-only designs. The next drop is planned for winter 2025, so stay tuned for more details.
Pappy & Harriet’s has partnered with Coachella Valley-based
Windmill City Screen Printing, which uses environmentally-sensitive printing technologies on premium garments, for this first run of designs. Pappy & Harriet’s plans to collaborate with local artists for additional soft goods, as well as show posters, in the future. This includes Pappy & Harriet’s x Knitting Factory Entertainment merch that will combine the aesthetics of the venue with its entertainment company owner.
Pappy & Harriet’s also recently announced the first show with FREE entry exclusively for
Local Keychain holders: local band Mick Rhodes & The Hard Eight (
Sunday, August 10). The Local Keychain is an effort to thank patrons from the Morongo Basin for their long-time support of the hometown haunt. Holders receive priority entry to shows, 10% off all food, and $2 off every alcoholic drink for themselves and one guest.
The upcoming selection of live music at the venue includes two multi-day events: the third annual Pappy & Harriet’s Chopper Party (
Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20) and the seventh annual Orville Peck’s Rodeo (
Friday, November 14 through Sunday, November 16). The Chopper Party will feature performances from Paul Cauthen, The Rhyolite Sound, Gethen Jenkins, Will Worden, Frankie & the Studs, and Sik Sik Sicks. Orville Peck’s Rodeo will feature performances from Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Joy Oladokun, Allison Russell, Abbey Cone, Angela Autumn, Chaparelle, Emily Rose & the Rounders, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Jobi Riccio, Palmyra, The Deslondes, Uwade, and Valley James, plus a drag brunch with the queen Meatball.
Pappy & Harriet’s first opened its doors in 1982, following a ten-year stint as a biker bar, and has since become a mecca for tourists near and far and residents of the local community. The historic venue began as the cantina in an Old West frontier town built in 1946 by a group of Hollywood investors (including Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, and Russel Hayden) for use as a film and television set. Now an unpretentious cultural institution that hosts live entertainment and maintains the homestyle cooking of its husband-and-wife founders Harriet and Claude “Pappy” Allen, the performance space and restaurant is operated by the famed hospitality and live music company
Knitting Factory Entertainment (“KFE”). KFE has a long history managing bars and restaurants, owning and operating music venues, and booking live events and festivals.
