Palm Desert Hosts Soccer Watch Weekend
Palm Desert residents and visitors are invited to celebrate the final weekend of the FIFA World Cup with free community viewing events, family activities and match-day gatherings across the city on Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19, 2026.

The “Palm Desert Community Soccer Watch Weekend,” presented by The Shops at Palm Desert in partnership with the City of Palm Desert, will feature public viewings of the Bronze Match and Championship Match, along with activities for soccer fans of all ages.
The two-day celebration serves as the grand finale of Palm Desert’s “Discover What’s Next” summer campaign and will bring the community together in a lively, family-friendly atmosphere. More than a dozen local restaurants, breweries, sports bars and neighborhood gathering places will also show matches throughout the tournament.
“Our ‘Discover What’s Next’ campaign has been about encouraging people to experience everything Palm Desert has to offer,” Palm Desert Mayor Evan Trubee said. “This championship weekend is a perfect finale—bringing our community together, celebrating our local businesses, and giving residents and visitors another great reason to discover Palm Desert.”
The main family watch party will be held at the Main Court at The Shops at Palm Desert, 72840 Highway 111. Attendees can watch the matches on a large community viewing screen while enjoying a children’s craft and hangout zone, an Instagram photo contest featuring fans wearing their favorite team’s colors, and gift basket giveaways.
Check-in for the Bronze Match begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18, with the match starting at 2 p.m. Championship Match check-in begins at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 19, followed by kickoff at noon.
Admission is free and open to the public. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with standing-room and upper-level viewing areas also available. Registered guests who check in can receive branded giveaway items and bottled water while supplies last.
“The Shops at Palm Desert is proud to partner with the City of Palm Desert to create a fun, welcoming place where individuals and families can join in celebrating the excitement of one of the world’s biggest sporting events as it comes to a close,” said Nayyan Chandler, marketing and business development manager for The Shops at Palm Desert.
Participating viewing locations include The Hideout, Alps Village, Aquifer 65 & The Sushi Bar, Armando’s Dakota Bar & Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, Casa Luna, Casuelas Café, Kitchen 86, La Quinta Brewing Co., Little Bar, Roc’s Firehouse Grille, Stuft Pizza Bar & Grill and other Palm Desert establishments.
