The City of Desert Hot Springs is delighted to announce the reopening of North Indian Canyon Drive, a crucial lifeline connecting Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs. This major thoroughfare will resume facilitating traffic flow starting at 5 PM this Friday, May 3, 2024, following extensive repairs and upgrades in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Hilary.
The project, costing approximately $8.1 million, was essential in addressing the severe destruction and ensuring a robust and durable infrastructure. North Indian Canyon Drive had been closed for comprehensive repairs between Mission Lake Boulevard and Scenic Drive to secure its resilience against future climatic challenges.
The community's patience and cooperation during the reconstruction phase have been invaluable. As the road reopens, we invite residents and travelers to experience the benefits of the improved and safer route, a testament to our collective resilience.
