Mission Springs Water District (MSWD) is delighted to announce the appointment of Brian Macy as its new General Manager. This significant decision was made with the unanimous approval (5-0) of his contract by the Board of Directors.

Board President Ivan Sewell commented, "Brian's appointment as the permanent General Manager results from a comprehensive assessment of his exemplary performance, unwavering commitment, and exceptional leadership qualities. The Board is unanimously confident in Brian's capabilities to steer MSWD towards further achievements."

Brian Macy stepped into the role following the retirement of Arden Wallum, who admirably served as General Manager for 18 years. Since assuming the interim role, Macy has significantly enhanced the District's transparency. He has been at the helm of several pivotal initiatives, including the development of the District's new strategic plan, financial master plan, and the establishment of new wastewater pre-treatment guidelines.

A key figure in the ongoing construction of the Nancy Wright Regional Water Reclamation Facility and its associated Conveyance Line Project, Macy has demonstrated exceptional leadership in one of the District's most ambitious projects to date.

The recent approval of a three-year contract with General Manager Macy underlines MSWD's dedication to long-term stability and progress. In his role, Macy will be responsible for the district's daily operations and spearhead strategic initiatives vital for our sustained success.

Brian Macy, who joined MSWD in 2019 as Assistant General Manager, brings over three decades of rich experience in engineering and management. His prior roles include serving as General Manager of Indio Water Authority and Assistant General Manager at Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Ohio Northern University and is a licensed civil engineer in California and Ohio.
