DNLnews Traffic:
Traffic on Madison Street is limited to one lane between Avenue 48 and Highway 111 from January 23 to January 24, 2024
INDIO, CA – The Madison Street Widening Project will progress on Tuesday, January 23, and Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in the City of Indio. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., traffic on Madison Street, stretching from Avenue 48 to Highway 111, will be confined to one lane each way. This lane reduction is necessary for pavement grinding activities. Additionally, the traffic signal at Highway 111 and Madison Street intersection may operate on red flash as required during these hours.
Motorists and pedestrians should proceed cautiously and anticipate delays when navigating these intersections during the specified times. Using alternate routes or adjusting travel schedules is advisable to avoid extended waiting times.
The scope of the Madison Street Widening Project includes expanding Madison Street from three lanes to four over a quarter-mile stretch south of Highway 111. Enhancements such as a new curb, gutter, bike lanes, and sidewalk installation on Madison Street's east side within the project area are also part of the project.
For further information about the project, please get in touch with the City of Indio Public Works Department at (760) 391-4017.
