On May 23, 2025, U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs issued a temporary restraining order blocking the Trump administration's attempt to revoke Harvard University's ability to enroll international students. This legal action came swiftly after Harvard filed a lawsuit challenging the government's decision, which the university described as unconstitutional retaliation for defying political demands.
