Behind the walls of the property in Enoch (US state of Utah), a bloodbath has taken place. Police officers found eight bodies of a family - including five underage children. All the victims were shot dead.
Officers had gone to the house on Albert Drive Wednesday for a "welfare check," according to local media. A city spokesman said such operations are common after residents report neglect or haven't seen neighbors in a long time. Rob Dotson did not provide details. "We don't know yet why this happened."
Backgrounds are not yet known. On the part of the authorities, it was only said that there was no danger to the approximately 8000 residents of the small town in the south of the sparsely populated state. They are not looking for suspects but continue gathering "mountains of information."

Dotson spoke of a "tragedy" and said, "This is not normal and doesn't often happen in such a small, rural community. We're a big family here - and everyone had a connection to the individuals." Neighbor Tom Deville said, "I feel terrible. They were really nice people."
The family was members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, classified as Mormon, according to a local portal. The Christian denomination is the third largest in the United States, at 1.6 percent, after Protestants and Catholics. In Utah, however, the percentage is more than 60 percent.
