Please join us on September 11 at the 9/11 Memorial for a remembrance ceremony hosted by the Palm Springs Fire Department. We will gather at the 300 North El Cielo Memorial at 5:20 a.m. and observe silence at 5:46 a.m. to honor the lives lost during the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Additionally, we will have a retired FDNY Firefighter from Ladder Co. 85 speak at the event. At 6:34 a.m., the PSFD Honor Guard will ceremoniously lower the flag over the memorial to half-staff. Let us come together to pay our respects and remember those who died on this day. If you have any questions, please reach out to Captain Gunkel. Coffee and donuts will be provided.
Special event 'The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1534 and 3699' in Desert Hot Springs on Sunday, September 11, at 11 a.m. We understand that this day is significant for many, and we want to ensure that it is observed with the respect and honor it deserves. The event will include guest speakers and a moving performance of the national anthem by the Desert Hot Springs High School Choir. A $10 pulled pork buffet will be available for those who want to partake. We are particularly proud to announce that during the ceremony, Patriotism plaques will be presented to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in Palm Desert, the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, and Fire Station 37. We invite you to join us for this special occasion at 1 Club House Drive in Desert Hot Springs.
Come together for a day of service, fun, and information at the "9/11 Day of Unity" event in Palm Springs on September 11 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. We welcome all ages to join us at the James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center at 480 Tramview Road, Palm Springs, CA 92262. Enjoy music, activities, and unity as we honor Nancy Irby's rendition of the National Anthem. Indio City Hall is organizing a candlelight vigil on the solemn occasion of September 11. The community member, Rudy Morales, will lead the event, bringing together people from all walks of life.
