Community Colors Come to Life as Indio Unveils New Public Mural “Our Life”
There’s something special about watching a blank wall turn into a story.
The Indio is inviting residents, neighbors, and local media to gather for the unveiling of its newest public artwork, Our Life, a vibrant mural created by hometown artist Adam Enrique Rodriguez. The celebration is set for Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at 44925 Jackson Street, Suite C.

The event marks the latest addition to Indio’s growing public art program, an initiative that has steadily transformed everyday spaces into colorful landmarks reflecting the culture, history, and diversity of the Coachella Valley. Over the past several years, the city has supported murals, sculptures, and installations that spotlight local talent while creating welcoming, photo-worthy destinations for residents and visitors alike.
Rodriguez, known locally for bold color palettes and community-inspired themes, designed Our Life to capture the shared spirit of Indio — from family and tradition to the desert landscape that shapes daily life. Organizers say the piece celebrates connection, resilience, and pride of place, turning an ordinary wall into a visual love letter to the neighborhood.
City officials will host brief remarks before the reveal, followed by time for photos and community mingling. The unveiling is free and open to the public.
For art lovers, it’s a chance to meet the artist and see the creative process come full circle. For everyone else, it’s simply a good excuse to step outside, say hello to your neighbors, and watch Indio add another splash of color to the map.
Sometimes the best stories aren’t in galleries — they’re right there on the street corner.
