Big Stir Records is set to release a fantastic new, double-sided benefit single with all proceeds going to the humanitarian aid organization United Help Ukraine.
Songs For Ukrainian Independence Day pairs the beautiful single "Snake Island Thirteen" courtesy of Southern California-based band The Armoires with the aptly-titled "Don't Kill The World I'm Living In" from Kharkiv, Ukraine-based Roy Crank.
The single will be available for purchase/donations via the Big Stir Records website HERE and Bandcamp pages as of Ukrainian Independence Day itself, August 24, and then hit all digital platforms worldwide on Friday, August 30 (with a call for all who stream it to consider a direct donation to UHU). The tracks included are:
-“Snake Island Thirteen” by The Armoires (co-led by first-generation Ukrainian-American Christina Bulbenko), an urgent new track from the band's forthcoming album written in honor of the brave Ukrainian soldiers whose defiant radio response to the threats of a Russian warship in the Black Sea became a rallying cry heard the world over, and
-"Don't Kill That World I'm Living In" by Roy Crank, known to the global pop rock community as the host of the essential and widely-syndicated Crankin' Up radio show – a strikingly emotive pop ballad directly from his heart, and the heart of Ukraine itself.
