A Thrilling Showdown on the Road to the Super Bowl!
What an offensive fireworks display, what a finish, and what a ticket punched to the biggest stage in sports. Super Bowl LX is set, and it will feature the Seattle Seahawks against the New England Patriots after Seattle edged the Los Angeles Rams 31–27 in a pulsating NFC Championship thriller.
Two of the NFL’s most popular franchises meet again on the Super Bowl stage, rekindling memories of the 2014 classic, when the Patriots—then led by Tom Brady—prevailed in dramatic fashion.

Sunday night’s showdown was decided by the smallest of margins and one unforgettable mistake. Early in the second half, with the Rams forcing a punt, Seattle returner Xavier Smith misjudged the ball and tumbled backward as it dropped. The Seahawks pounced on the loose ball just short of the goal line—the only turnover of the entire game, and a costly one.
Moments later, Sam Darnold capitalized, firing a touchdown pass to Bobo to give Seattle a 24–13 cushion. From there, the game exploded into a scoring frenzy. Veteran Davante Adams answered for the Rams, before Cooper Kupp, Super Bowl champion in 2022, struck back—this time for Seattle—to make it 31–20.
Even then, the drama wasn’t done. A needless taunting penalty by Seahawks defender Tariq Woolen kept a Rams drive alive, and quarterback Matthew Stafford punished the mistake with a touchdown strike to Puka Nacua, cutting the deficit to 31–27. The stadium held its breath—but Seattle’s defense bent, then held firm, sealing the victory.
The man of the match was undoubtedly Darnold. Battling an oblique issue all week, he silenced doubts early with a perfect 51-yard strike and never looked back. He finished 25 of 36 for 346 yards, three touchdowns, and a sparkling 127.8 passer rating.
His favorite target on the night was Jaxson Smith-Njigba, the league’s top receiver this season. Smith-Njigba dazzled with acrobatic catches—including a jaw-dropping one-handed grab on the sideline—and posted 10 receptions for 153 yards and a crucial first-half touchdown that kept Seattle in front.
After the game, Darnold summed up the moment on Fox: “It’s incredible to achieve this with this team, with these coaches. It’s a special group.”
