The heat is proving relentless, from Arizona's desert landscapes hitting 45 degrees to Florida's typically balmy climate reaching a staggering 40 degrees.

California's Central Valley and the Desert Southwest are particularly affected, with a robust heat dome—a large area of high pressure—trapping hot air and magnifying the searing temperatures. Heat advisories affect more than 25 million people across California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico. Las Vegas and Death Valley are experiencing record-breaking temperatures, 111 and 122 degrees, respectively.

This oppressive heat isn't limited to Europe and North America. China also feels the burn, with temperatures expected to exceed 40 degrees. North Africa is similarly sweltering, with Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco all recording temperatures over 40 degrees and some regions hitting a scorching 45 degrees.
