An investigation at the scene determined that Tyson Rodriguez, a resident of Arcata, was northbound on Palm Drive in a Kia Sorrento. The second driver, a 59-year-old Desert Hot Springs resident, was eastbound on Hacienda Avenue in a Ford Focus.
