Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise (60) is not necessarily tall at 168 centimeters, but when it comes to ambition, nobody can fool him. In his job, he is rarely too refined, has been doing his own stunts for years, and likes getting his hands dirty.

But even if he flies fighter planes like in "Top Gun", only falls off a cliff hanging on a rope for "Mission: Impossible" and drags extremely heavy costumes like in "Edge of Tomorrow", that's not supposed to be it. Loosely based on James Bond, Cruise is “the world is not enough” – he wants to shoot the first film in space!

Speaking to the BBC, Universal Filmed Entertainment Group's film production executive Donna Langley said the plan to make Hollywood history with Tom Cruise in space would not be deviated from. Even if this project is expensive and the planning is far from over.

The still nameless strip has been in the works since 2020. The actor himself doesn't just want to fly into space, he's actually planning a tour of the ISS! This would make the 60-year-old the first civilian to “walk” in space.

When exactly the shooting for the space spectacle should start was not known. But considering the extraordinary factors that a flight into space entails even for trained astronauts, this challenge must be a life's work for Cruise, who has acted in over 40 films.

And in the end the question remains open: Is Hollywood beau Tom Cruise just ambitious or already megalomaniac?
