Tom Brady leads his Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the playoffs with three insane touchdown passes.
DLNews Sports NFL Sunday Games New Year's Day 2023:
"New Year's game day in the NFL - full of surprises!"
In week 17, Tom Brady, his Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the New York Giants make the playoffs as teams number eleven and twelve. Brady making it into the postseason is one of the season's big surprises. The quarterback legend, like his team, has hardly been able to convince so far. All the same! Now they've made the NFC South win anyway!
Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Carolina Panthers 30-24
Typical, Tampa: After 0:14 and 10:21, Tom Brady and his Buccaneers come back into play.
Madness: Brady fires 1a pass at Mike Evans three times. With a successful two-point conversion (Brady on Godwinn), the Bucs lead 6:47 minutes before the end with 24:21.
Tom Brady even gets a touchdown via quarterback sneak just before the end zone. His first rushing touchdown this season for him! The next big surprise for him today!
The Bucs get the NFC South with the win and are in the playoffs.
Curious: Tom Brady has spent more time in his life in the NFL than before! He played in the best football league in the world for 22 years, 8 months, and 16 days. He was 22 years, 8 months, and 13 days old when he was drafted...
New Year's Day 2023 Games Results:
Kansas City Chiefs — Denver Broncos 27:24
It was bitter for the Chiefs at the beginning: A punt return was lost, and the Broncos got the ball. And in the next attack, quarterback Russell Wilson punishes the faux pas with a touchdown run.
Wilson later runs another touchdown. But not enough! Jerick McKinnon has two touchdowns for the Chiefs, and Isaiah Pacheco and Blake Bell have their touchdowns.
Detroit Lions-Chicago Bears 41-10
German-American brother duel in Detroit: Amon-Ra St. Brown (23/Lions) against his brother Equanimeous (26/Bears). Before the game, both pose for a family photo together with Papa John (American) and Mama Miriam (from Germany). After the Bears started 10:7, the Lions turned the tables, led 24:10 at the break — and then didn't let anything burn. Brock Wright and D'Andre Swift each have two touchdowns.
Houston Texans — Jacksonville Jaguars 3:31
A straightforward thing for the Jaguars with touchdowns from JaMycal Hasty, Travis Etienne, Tyson Campbell, and Snoop Conner — as well as many successful shots from kicker Riley Patterson. Most recently, the Jaguars had suffered nine losses against the Texans...
New England Patriots — Miami Dolphins 23:21
The math from the Dolphins' point of view was simple: one win and one flop for the Jets — and they'd be in the playoffs! However, the Patriots are not playing. Tyquan Thornton, Kyle Dugger, and Jakobi Meyers score for New England with their touchdowns. Then, 64 seconds before the end, the Dolphins make it exciting again! Mike Gesicki, with his touchdown, and Jason Sanders, with an extra point, bring the dolphins to 21:23. However, the Patriots play this thing cool to the end.
New York Giants — Indianapolis Colts 38-10
The win sees the Giants make the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Quarterback Daniel Jones contributed two touchdown runs himself. Excitement scene: Kayvon Thibodeaux from the Giants flattens quarterback Nick Foles, stays on the ground in a good mood, and makes a snow angel cheer. And that, even though Colt's playmaker is seriously injured next to him! Foles has to leave the field after lengthy treatment (probably a rib injury). The TV cameras catch Thibodeaux making the unsportsmanlike "good night" gesture with both hands shaped like a pillow...
Atlanta Falcons-Arizona Cardinals 20-10
Powerful scene: The Falcons block a punt — win the pig skin and shortly afterward complete it with a touchdown by Cordarrelle Patterson.
Washington Commanders — Cleveland Browns 10:24
Quarterback returnee Carson Wentz puts Washington ahead with his touchdown. After that, however, the Browns set the tone, including two touchdowns from Amari Cooper.
Las Vegas Raiders — San Francisco 49ers 34:37
The surprising appearance of the Raiders: After the sacking of quarterback Derek Carr, Jarrett Stidham leads the team to a strong performance. Davante Adams celebrates two touchdowns. One is more beautiful than the other! Here comes number one. The second after a fantastic pass from Stidham. And the 49ers? Rookie quarterback Brock Purdy with two touchdown passes to Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle. Christian McCaffrey also runs for a touchdown. He's managed one in each of the last five games. Mega tension in the final phase! Raiders touchdown by Josh Jacobs and an extra point by Daniel Carlson. 1:11 minutes before the end, it is 34:34.
The 49ers have the ball again! Two seconds before the end, Robbie Gould gets a field goal chance from 41 yards to win — and shoots wide!
Overtime! Gould gets another shot from 23 yards and puts it in for the win!
Seattle Seahawks — New York Jets 23-6
Quarterback Mike White is back for the Jets after suffering a rib injury and is two games out — replacing Zach Wilson, who has been heavily criticized in New York. But the focus is on his opponent: Geno Smith fires out two touchdown passes. Kicker Jason Myers did the rest with three field goals for the Seahawks.
Green Bay Packers-Minnesota Vikings 41-16
The Packers win for the fourth time in a row and are in the playoffs with a win on the last game day.
But what a swatter for the Vikings! Remarkable scene: Justin Jefferson is pushed, angrily tears his helmet off his head, and apparently wants to throw it to the ground. During the frustrating action, however, he catches a referee who suddenly runs in front of his feet with his helmet on his back. Ouch!
Los Angeles Chargers — Los Angeles Rams 31:10
The duel for Los Angeles! And the Chargers are taking apart the reigning Super Bowl champion. The Rams' 11th loss of the season — no defending champion in NFL history was that bad. What a crash!
NFL fans are talking about two incredible scenes!
Crazy thing: Chargers' Mike Williams with the catch of the year! And "Magic" Williams can do even more magic tricks! First, he catches a pass with knee help. Incomprehensible!
