DLNews Education:
The school in Placentia (California) has suspended Judy Rehburg because the bio teacher allegedly taught her students about ‘sodomy,’ among other things. US media report this.
Background of the suspension: a video showing the science teacher in class. During the lesson, Rehburg talked about sex toys, where the 17- to 18-year-old students could buy them, the role of the male prostate in sex, and the female G-spot.
Too much for some parents, so they filed complaints. The responsible school authority temporarily withdrew Judy Rehburg from circulation. A spokeswoman: "In the classroom, staff members act on behalf of the district. They are expected to follow the curriculum. They should not hold personal opinions or viewpoints." They are investigating the case.
An account called FreeJudy was created on Instagram. Who is behind the profile with the manageable 150 followers has yet to be discovered. Students must have their say in who was there during biology lessons. According to the anonymous statements, Rehburg only answered questions from those present and did so in an "appropriate manner."
The "New York Post" quotes a mother whose daughter taught the naturalist. "She's everyone's favorite teacher. She's kind, loves nature, plants, and all living things," says Molly Kurzbard. At one meeting, several parents pledged their support to Judy Rehburg, she said.
Critics accuse the educator of being a "political activist." Lisa Aultman, involved in the PTA, spoke of "totally inappropriate, obscene and perverted" things Rehburg was discussing with the teens. "Take action," the mother urges the school board.
