Nostradamus (1503 - 1566) prophesies much doom for the new year.
DLNews Prophecies:
World War III, cannibalism, and a new, evil pope
You don't have to be a clairvoyant to predict Nostradamus' prophecies for the coming year: it's not good news!
In his primary profession, Nostradamus was called Michel de Nostredame, a doctor and pharmacist.
The 16th-century doctor and apothecary left numerous prophecies for the future - up to 3797! Almost all of his predictions were catastrophes.
So, the predictions of today's astrologers based on the predictions of the famous and long-dead Schwarz seer for 2023 are not rosy either.
Global economic crisis drives people to cannibalism
Even without being a prophet of doom, it should be clear to everyone that next year will be economically tricky and challenging.
However, the interpretations of Nostradamus' prediction are much, much gloomier: the crisis is set to worsen dramatically, and people's misery will drive them to cannibalism!
Well, cheers to that!
World War III
"Seven months of great war, dead people through evil deeds" is the following bad news for 2023. Like the previous one, unsurprisingly, a terrible war has already been raging in Ukraine for ten months following the Russian invasion.
Will the conflict spread to NATO and the world?
On top of this, "the buried" will come to the surface in 2023 - so are the dead still rising? Or an allusion to a nuclear war and the survivors returning to daylight from the bunkers?
As usual, the Seer's future verses are open to interpretation and must be clarified.
Evil successor on the papal throne
The third dark prophecy also ties in with current events: The old pope will step down, and an evil successor will take his place. A kind of Antichrist is to take the helm of (Catholic) Christianity.
There is currently great concern about Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. The current pontiff, Francis I, is also considered to be in poor health. So, it cannot be ruled out that a new Bishop of Rome could be elected in 2023.
Who was Nostradamus, and where did his predictions come from?
Michel de Nostredame (1503 - 1566), Nostradamus (just the Latinized form of his name), was a doctor and pharmacist who lived in France in the 16th century. He experienced and survived the plague; the 16th century was generally a time of negative headlines. Disease, hunger, and war were omnipresent.
Whether Nostradamus was an astrologer, as is often claimed, is disputed. There is no evidence that he studied the art of reading the stars. For example, his famous horoscope for the then Crown Prince Rudolf of Habsburg (later Emperor) was completely wrong!
From 1550, Michel wrote annual forecasts published as an almanac. Later, he published the so-called "Centuries," which always looked into the future in four lines - up to 3797!
The unique feature: All the predictions were vague, without a date or even a year, and very symbolic - leaving plenty of room for interpretation. In other words, people picked outlines from the "Centuries" that seemed particularly appropriate to the current situation ...
Even if the predictions seem to bring us to the end of the world every year, the only date Nostradamus fixed on was 3797. That's when the world will end; the black seer was certain!
