Story and Photos by Pat Krause
The Beach Boys band performed to a sold-out crowd at THE SHOW at the Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa on Saturday, the 23rd. Nine musicians make up this iconic band. They played some of the most memorable hit songs from their years as the number-one American band. They arrived on stage to the cheers of the fans.

The opening part of the concert featured photos and videos of the band's early years. This theme served as the backdrop for almost every song. Amazing photos showcased the years when their songs topped the charts. Each song was accompanied by videos of the musicians as young performers and the band's antics throughout the years. It was fun to watch while we listened to them sing our favorite songs.

A few songs had the entire audience standing up to dance in place or sing along. For one song, they requested that people turn on the flashlights on their phones as it was dedicated to the women in the audience. These songs brought back memories of surfing, cars, and romance. Songs like "Good Vibrations," "Surfer Girl," "Surfing USA," "Barbara Ann," "Kokomo," and many others are still sung worldwide.

One of the founding members, Mike Love, was still at the mic, and long-time members like Bruce Johnston were still at the keyboards. Long-time musicians lent their vocals to create their unique sound. Mike Love brought his son Christian to the mic for a solo. The drummer mesmerized the crowd by singing while playing the drums and twirling his sticks. Band statistics show they have sold over 100 million albums, have 80 top hits, and have performed over 5,432 shows across six decades. Incredible careers!
Watch for the following amazing shows coming up at THE SHOW: Stephen Pearcy and Ratt, Quiet Riot on Dec. 6, and Kool and the Gang on Dec. 14. If you're looking for something special on Dec. 31, check out KC and the Sunshine Band to ring in the New Year.
