The federal police FBI in Massachusetts arrested a suspect concerning the publication of explosive U.S. secret service information online. The "New York Times" and the U.S. broadcaster CNN have reported this today, Thursday, April 13, 2023.

It is an "Airman" stationed at a U.S. military base of the "Massachusetts Air National Guard." His name: is Jack Teixeira (21).

On Thursday afternoon, his family's home in Dighton, Massachusetts, was surrounded by FBI agents. Armored cars were even used. Federal police eventually took away Teixeira with his hands over his head.

Teixeira led a small chat group of gamers on the Discord platform. Months ago, the first "top secret" files appeared in this discussion round.

A long list of other highly explosive information was to follow – on the war in Ukraine, intrigues in the Kremlin, CIA espionage operations, and arms shipments from the Middle East to Moscow. And much more. The files scandal most recently had real-time effects when Kyiv had to adapt military plans because of the secret service files leak.

According to the New York Times, Teixeira spoke to 20 to 30 people - primarily young men - "who shared their love of guns, racist online memes, and video games" in "Thug Shaker Central." Reporters interviewed four members of the group for the revelation.

The alleged mole used "O.G." online - it may have stood for "Original Gangster." According to a report in the Washington Post newspaper, in which the chat group with the possible perpetrator was identified for the first time, there are also said to be disturbing videos: In one, the young man makes racist and anti-Semitic tones, then fires at one Target shooting range. Forum members describe him as fit and trigger-happy, "a guy out of a movie."

The "New York Times" presented further evidence about the perpetrator with meticulous investigative work. How exactly did that happen? The revealed secret documents had been printed out and photographed. Details of the environment can be seen at the edge of these photos – and they should match family photos from Teixeira's home published online.

This is how the puzzle was put together.

The suspected mole works in the Massachusetts Air National Guard's 102nd Intelligence Wing, the department responsible for gathering information. That's probably why Teixeira had access rights to the daily civilian and military intelligence service briefings.

He probably wanted to brag to his friends.

The Washington Post also disclosed extensive details about the alleged mole. So "O.G." told the chat group that he got hold of the documents at a military base where he worked. He spent part of the day in a secure facility where cell phones and other electronic devices were prohibited. Therefore, he initially copied the documents. Then, he posted his posts in the group throughout the winter. A group member said it was probably about "bragging to his friends" and informing them.

US President Joe Biden (80) had reacted to the thriller at home during a visit to Northern Ireland: Investigators would “get closer and closer to a solution to the espionage crime,” said Biden.

The "breaking news" triggered a media storm: Outside the family home, Teixeira's mother confirmed that her son served in the National Guard and had worked night shifts at a base in Cape Cod. Later, a young man matching Teixeira's description pulled up in a red pickup. He told reporters that a lawyer was being sought - and that the "Feds" would be here soon.

That turned out to be the correct prediction.
