DLNews at the Movies:
It may not technically be a Christmas movie - but it is one this year, and it’s playing on the big screen at the Palm Springs Cultural Center’s Historic Camelot Theatre this holiday season! The famous film retrospective series, Palm Springs Rewinds, will close out the year with a collection of nontraditional Christmas movies that offer plenty of murder and mayhem to spice up your holidays.
BATMAN RETURNS, starring Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeiffer, will serve as the final screening of the PS Rewinds: Tim Burton Retrospective and the opener of the Palm Springs Rewinds: Not Another Christmas Movie series on November 30. The series will also screen the Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd comedy TRADING PLACES, followed by the Steven Spielberg-produced horror comedy GREMLINS, and close with the action classic that made Bruce Willis a star, DIE HARD.
"We love a classic Christmas movie as much as anyone, but we thought it would be fun to feature some of our unconventional favorites this year," said Program Director Lauren Wolfer. "Each of these titles has an edge that can be especially welcome during the holiday season.
The PS Rewinds: Not Another Christmas Movie series is sponsored by Green Dragon Dispensary and Lounge, PRO VR USA - Virtual Reality, and CV Independent. All films will be screened in the Cultural Center’s Historic Camelot Theatre. The Camelot is a local institution beloved by film fans, boasting one of the giant screens in the Coachella Valley and a state-of-the-art sound system.
Showtime is 8 pm. Tickets are available "here."
