Kairan Quazi (14) is not only the youngest graduate of Santa Clara University - but will also be the youngest software developer at Elon Musk's company SpaceX.
Dlnews Staff:
Elon Musk's company SpaceX will soon have a new employee. The special: Kairan Quazi is just 14 years old.
The San Francisco Bay Area (California) prodigy became the youngest graduate of Santa Clara University to earn a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering - and will start his new job at SpaceX in July.
Quazi was already speaking in complete sentences at age two, his parents told U.S. regional broadcaster "KGO."
Early in his school career, he also noticed that he differed from his peers: "In the third grade, it became clear to my teachers, parents, and pediatrician that the normal school route was not right for my learning ability," Qazi told the station.
After a few tests, it was clear that Quazi had an unusually high IQ - and an extraordinary emotional intelligence that made him seem much more mature.
So he took a unique path, attending college at age nine and transferring to university at just 11 - where most students graduate at about 22.
Then came his successful application to SpaceX: On Instagram, he posted an excerpt from an email: "Congratulations! SpaceX is excited to make you the attached job offer."
Quazi's father congratulates his talented son.
And the joy of employment is excellent! Qazi wrote in response, "I'll be joining the coolest company in the world as a software engineer on the Starlink development team."
The wunderkind says he doesn't feel like he's "missing out on childhood." Instead, he appreciates the opportunity to have experiences beyond his age. However, Quazi is not gifted in all directions either: for example, he once said that spelling and learning languages do not suit him.
The teenager lives in an apartment with his mother, who Quazi says is his most significant support. They are preparing to move to Redmond, Washington state, in July, when Quazi will join SpaceX's Starlink team.
