How deep must his hatred have run?
Caught all on camera (Ring) Jeffrey Roberts just before ringing the bell and killing his brother.
A man drove around 750 miles - to murder his brother. Local media report this.
Police officers storm the property. In a hail of bullets, the brother killer dies.
According to the report, Jeffrey Roberts (66) got into his car in Long Beach (California) and drove almost twelve hours to Ogden (Utah)—what happened there document recordings of a monitoring camera.
Scott Roberts was shot for no reason. The hero was able to help his wife Jodi escape from the killer.
At about 7 p.m. local time on Thursday (April 27), the 66-year-old rings the doorbell of his brother Scott. Jeffrey Roberts asks, "Hey, what are you doing?" The eventual victim replies, "What are you doing here?" After a small, not rude exchange of words, the man in shorts and high-top tennis socks suddenly pulls out a gun and starts shooting.
In another view, Jeffrey Roberts can be seen retrieving a duffel bag and a shotgun from the car. At that point, he shot his brother, and his sister-in-law Jodi was able to escape. While neighbors call the police because of the gunfire, the 66-year-old sets the house on fire with distress flares.
The set fire destroyed a large part of the house.
When officers arrive on the scene, the house is already in flames. Roberts immediately begins shooting at law enforcement officers, riddling a police car and a neighbor's garage door, among other things, with gunshot holes. Finally, the bearded man steps in front of the doorstep while continuing to fire - and eventually collapses, fatally hit by police bullets.
According to the investigation report, Jeffrey Roberts was heavily armed, carrying 23 fully loaded magazines for his 9mm pistol, shotgun, and 150 rounds of ammunition. The motive for the bloodbath is entirely unknown. The media wrote only that the brothers were estranged. The Weber County District Attorney's Office is investigating.
The victim's daughter, Kelsey Turner, has started a fundraising campaign for her mother. She said Jodi Roberts lost her husband, who saved her life and lost most of her possessions because of the fire. Gofundme campaign goal: "To help my mom rebuild her life."
