Everyone is talking about THIS film - and the trailer alone is a masterpiece!
Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio (48) and star director Martin Scorsese (80) have once again shot a film together – more precisely, for the sixth time.
Great men, great film (from left): Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, and master director Martin Scorsese presented their film "Killers of the Flower Moon" at the Cannes Film Festival.
That alone is reason enough to look closely at the Western crime thriller "Killers of the Flower Moon," based on a true story. It could be the best movie of the year!
Apple TV has everyone curious and has just released a new trailer for the award-winning master director's 206-minute, $200 million western epic. And even after this brief foretaste, it is evident: Scorsese has created something huge again!
DiCaprio in a dark chapter of US history
Killers of the Flower Moon is about the Osage murders in Oklahoma in the early 20th century on the Osage Country reservation. The local native tribe of the Orsage achieves great wealth through oil discoveries. This brings envious people, especially the white population, onto the scene - and suddenly, members of their tribe are systematically and brutally murdered.
Leonardo DiCaprio, who is also co-producing the film, plays Ernest Burkhart, who is married to Native American Mollie (Lily Gladstone) on the one hand - but also under the thumb of his influential uncle William Hale (Robert De Niro).
Film in development since 2016
It took seven years before the lavishly filmed, brutal, fairly loud Western flick finally hit the cinemas in the fall.

At first, there was a problem with the script. Then no one wanted to finance the film - despite various superstars in the leading roles. In the end, Apple dared, on whose streaming platform Apple TV+ "Killers of the Flower Moon" will also be shown later.
The film is the sixth collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio (after, among others, "Gangs of New York," "The Wolf of Wall Street") - and even the tenth between Scorsese and De Niro.
In 1973, they shot the film "Hexenkessel" together. In 1976 they (along with Oscar winner Jodie Foster) won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for Taxi Driver.

Superstar Robert de Niro (79/plays cattle breeder William Hale) had to interrupt the shooting of "Killers of the Flower Moon" for several weeks in May 2021. He pulled a hamstring muscle and had to leave the set for treatment in New York.
