DLNews Law & Order:
Riots and arrests across the country
They are images that are reminiscent of the storming of the Capitol (January 6, 2021): The hatred of Jews at US elite universities is escalating ultimately! On Monday evening, anti-Semitic, allegedly “pro-Palestinian” students stormed a building at Columbia University (New York) and barricaded themselves there. They threatened to stay there until the university management changed its course on Israel, i.e., abandoned the country in the fight against Islamists.
In an Instagram post, the students released a statement: “An autonomous group of students has taken matters into their own hands. They will remain in Hamilton Hall until the University part ways with Death.”
The angry mob is demanding, among other things, that the university divest from companies with ties to Israel.
This is a demand that the university management strictly rejects. Columbia boss Minouche Shafik made it clear on Monday that they would not “withdraw investments from Israel.” However, she promised more transparency and the inclusion of student suggestions for “socially responsible investing.”
In return, Shafik criticized the anti-Jewish sentiment that had motivated many Jewish students to leave the university. They described the atmosphere as “unbearable”. Shafik said: “Anti-Semitic language and actions are unacceptable, and calls for violence are simply abhorrent.”
That's why the university management took action against the participants in the protest camp and began suspending students, a spokesman said on Monday evening. The university management had previously set a deadline for evacuation, but the Israel haters let it pass. Around 200 students had gathered on campus with tents. However, as Shafik announced, negotiations with the university management were unsuccessful.
The university also announced on Tuesday that students' and essential employees' access to campus would be restricted until further notice.
Clashes and arrests in Texas and Virginia
There is also a tense atmosphere at the country's universities, given the ongoing protests against Israel's fight against Hamas terror in Gaza. Clashes broke out between demonstrators and police at the university in Austin, Texas, on Monday. At least 40 rioters were arrested. There were also arrests in Virginia.
The escalation extends from the west to the east coast. Anti-Semitism is shamelessly chanted by many students. In Columbia, hundreds of students pitched their tents and shouted anti-Israel slogans.
Examples of chants and posters:
“There is only one solution: the Intifada revolution.” Intifada stands for terror against Israelis and Jews!
“Palestine will be free from the river to the sea.” That means Israel should be destroyed!
“Hamas’ next target.” There is also an arrow pointing to singing Jewish students.
“Go back to Poland!” So, Jews should leave the USA. Sayings like those from the darkest eras of human history because by “Poland,” they probably meant the German concentration camps in then-occupied Poland.
