Remi "Enigma" Lucidi was a daredevil - the 30-year-old Frenchman always wanted to go higher: he was a rooftopper. These are people who climb high-rise buildings illegally and without protection. They then post photos and videos of the nerve-wracking tours on the Internet.

But for Lucidi, the rooftop trip ended on Saturday: he had an accident in Hong Kong, falling 68 floors to his death from the “Tregunter Towers” residential high-rise. The circumstances of his fall: mysterious.

Lucidi is known on the internet as "Remi Enigma," where he has been documenting his adventures since 2016. His Instagram account was a visual diary of his daring activities, with thousands of followers cheering him on his quest for new heights.

He described himself as a "photographer." In recent posts, he has been seen posing on high-rise scaffolding and buildings in countries worldwide, including Dubai, Bulgaria, and France. His first post shows a video compilation in which the daredevil climbs various objects such as cranes, bridges, and a Ferris wheel.

In the following years, he posed spectacularly on buildings in Spain, Ukraine, Dubai, and his home country, France. His Instagram posts: are not for the faint of heart. Because Lucidi can often be seen at dizzying heights on the tops of various facilities, usually several hundred meters above the safe ground.

Many of the recordings also show the climbing sections that are completed without a safety belt. In a series of images, he is seen balancing on the edge of a 300-meter-high chimney in France.

He also operated train hopping - i.e., illegal travel with freight trains. This is considered at least as dangerous as illegal climbing.

Remi Enigma posted a photo of the Hong Kong skyline six days before his death. Fans say goodbye to the climber in the comments. Among other things: "You will never leave us; you are unique."

And his first Instagram post, the six-year-old video compilation, is now attracting attention again. One user commented: "Rest in peace. I'll miss you."
