DLNews People:
The stingy gift for a Burger King employee moved people worldwide.

One of the "highlights" of 27 years of service without an absence: A Starbucks mug. Yes, candy was also in the goodie bag of shame. The large package of candy costs a little more than two dollars in the USA. At Burger King, it was only enough for two small packs ...
As a "thank you" for 27 years of service without a single day off, Kevin Ford (54) received a bag. Inside: a movie ticket, a box of chocolates, a Starbucks mug, a key holder plus a tag, two pens, and two boxes of candies.
So far, so stingy.
While it was still unclear on Friday whether the stuff came from colleagues or his employer, the 54-year-old has now made it clear that Burger King put the gifts together.
Many users on social networks were pissed off that the Fries Croesus (worldwide sales in 2021: over 1.8 billion dollars) was so stingy.
One user wrote, "The man worked for Burger King for 27 years and never received a $27 gift." Another user wrote on Instagram, "He deserves his branch!"
Now the network has made mobile and collected for Kevin. And how!
Seryna Ford launched a GoFundMe campaign for her father. Within a short time, 107,000 dollars were raised, a lot of money for a man who probably would have had to save a lot for this amount. Instead, the 54-year-old wants to use the money to visit his grandchildren.
More than 3,000 donors used their grant to say a few personal words to Kevin Ford. "God bless you, Kevin. Enjoy the time with your family and keep your friendliness," writes one patron. Another commented on Ford's humility and diligence: "You are an inspiration."
Whether the Burger King employee was honestly happy about the little things about his 27-year-old ("Loyalty pays off") or wanted to make fun of his employer in the viral clip cannot be fully clarified.
Speaking to TMZ, the 54-year-old said, "I'm grateful for everything I'm getting," though he was a bit disappointed because the gifts seemed "like the stuff they had lying around and quickly put together."
USD 394,170 was raised of the $400,000 goal.
