Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) hosted its lively "Disco Under The Stars" fundraiser on a shimmering Saturday evening, the 19th. Over 70 guests, embracing the night's theme, arrived in their best disco attire, transforming the outdoor setting at the elegant home of Richard Odell and Andrew Uris into a dance floor straight out of the '70s. Tables surrounded the inviting backyard pool, where laughter mingled with the beats, setting the perfect mood.

DJ Tim Burleson took center stage, delivering more than just music—he infused the night with well-known classics, inviting guests to reminisce and move to the rhythm. His blend of live singing and upbeat tracks encouraged the crowd to let loose and dance under the starlit sky, creating a magical vibe that captured the spirit of the evening.

The purpose of this spirited garden gathering went beyond just dancing and disco. It was a heartfelt initiative to support Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine and spread the word about their vital work. As Special Guest and Emcee, Patrick Evans addressed the crowd, eloquently highlighting VIM’s impact on the community. He shared stories that emphasized the organization’s mission and importance, reminding guests that Volunteers in Medicine provides essential healthcare services free of charge for those without insurance—a mission that resonates deeply with those in attendance.
As the only free healthcare provider in the Valley, VIM inspires hope for needy residents. The organization offers comprehensive medical care, treating individuals with chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and arthritis while addressing acute ailments like the flu and cold. Extending their compassion beyond clinic walls, the volunteers at VIM also reach out to homeless communities, delivering critical medical support to those most in need.
In the evening, they celebrated music, togetherness, and the tireless dedication of VIM’s volunteers. These individuals work passionately to ensure everyone has access to healthcare when needed most, regardless of their circumstances. With two facilities—one in Indio and another in Palm Springs—VIM continues to expand its reach and deepen its impact.
