Buzz Aldrin (93) announced his marriage to Dr. Anca Faur (63)
DLNews Space Technology:
The second man on the moon now said yes for the fourth time.
Dr. Anca Faur is Aldrin's fourth wife.
Astronaut legend Buzz Aldrin announced that he married his longtime girlfriend on his birthday. Aldrin, who turned 93 on Friday, posted photos on Twitter of his wedding to the bride, who is 30 years his junior.
He wrote, "I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur and I have tied the knot. We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles and are as excited as runaway teenagers."
Dr. Faur, 63, has worked for Aldrin's company, Buzz Aldrin Ventures LLC, since 2019. She holds a doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
Aldrin was married three times: Joan Ann Archer from 1954 to 1974, Beverly Van Zile from 1975 to 1978, and Lois Driggs Cannon from 1988 to 2012. The second man to touch the moon's surface, Aldrin has three children, James, Janice, and Andrew, all with his first wife.

Aldrin hit the headlines last year when the jacket he wore on his historic first mission to the lunar surface in 1969 was auctioned off for nearly $2.8 million (about 2.6 million euros). The price exceeded pre-auction expectations by almost a third as bidders fought like mad for the legendary jacket.
He has now finally found his happiness, said Aldrin, after a long and challenging road. Because: according to his own statement, the astronaut had gone through a dark time after leaving Nasa.
From 1971, he simply didn't know what else to do with his life - and struggled with severe depression and alcoholism. It wasn't until years later, in 1988, that he found his new calling and founded a nonprofit organization, the ShareSpace Foundation, dedicated to expanding manned space exploration.
His views in this regard resemble those of space visionaries such as Tesla boss Elon Musk: The 93-year-old said a "great migration" was necessary not only for reasons of exploration but also for the continued survival of humanity.
