When others go to the beach on vacation, they need sun protection. U.S. President Joe Biden (80) and his wife Jill (72) need security protection.

Security guards accompany the presidential couple on their weekend trip to the Atlantic coast.

They watch in sunny 27-degree weather at a distance while the Bidens first read, then doze under their umbrella. Biden is in the middle of his ten-day vacation.

Since taking office, Biden has spent about 360 days - about 39 percent of his presidency - on vacation, as the British Daily Mail calculated. Of those, more than 100 days were spent outside Washington, D.C., alone.

His security staff ensures that Biden is not harassed by other guests on the beach. Their job is also to keep the president updated with the most important news around the clock.
