The 13th annual Hall of Fame Golf Tournament and Dinner was held on Jan. 30th hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert.  The golf was held at Indian Wells Country Club and the Dinner was held in the Indian Wells Club House. This years event was held in memory of Dr. Edwin Stempler who was a past president and a huge supporter of this charity for many years.

Board of Trustees President Phil Sheller welcomed everyone and thanked them for their support. Big Brothers Big Sisters needs $550.000 each year to help the 500 children in the program. A tribute to Dr. Stempler was offered by Past President Percy Byrd. David Suss and Tom Flanagan served as auctioneers for a live auction. A silent auction was held prior the dinner. Guests were asked if they would like to donate money to the charity. Many held up signs to make donations of $100 to $5,000.

Awards were presented to the golf winners by Rich Warfield and Mike Frizzell Rich and Mike were co-chairs of the tournament.  Awards will now be called the Dr. Edwin Stempler awards in his honor.

The Annexstad Family Foundation donated $50,000 for the third year. Julie Rethemeier announced the donation. A former Little Sister and Scholarship winner spoke to the crowd about how the scholarship has helped her to reach her goals in life that would not have been possible without the help of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert.
